Happy Sunday!

Twice a year, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints holds a General Conference–a 2-day event during which we have the opportunity to hear from living prophets and apostles of God. Church members and others from all over the world gather to hear instructions and receive answers to questions. The next General Conference will be October 4th and 5th. Every Sunday until then, I will be sharing a quote from a talk given in the last conference. Today's quote comes from my favorite talk given in April by a man I highly respect and adore, Dieter F. Uchtdorf.

TJ & Brandi | Bridal Pictures

You may remember seeing TJ and Brandi's engagement pictures here... About an hour before we were supposed to start taking pictures, it started pouring rain. I had my windshield wipers at full speed and just kept praying we would be able to get some decent pictures. We began taking pictures right in front of the Jordan River Temple, the only covered spot available. I kept telling Brandi and TJ that the rain was going to stop and finally, voila!, it did. We rushed out into the open area near the fountain and I started shooting furiously, just in case the rain paid us another visit. I had so much fun taking these pictures. Despite the stress of the rain, there was so much laughter, as you can see in the pictures below. Enjoy!

Superhero Kids Craft at Pottery Barn Kids

My mom and I hosted a superhero themed kids craft on Saturday at Pottery Barn Kids in Salt Lake City. We made reversible masks that the kiddos go to decorate and personalize with their first initial. Once they were done, we had a backdrop so their parents could take pictures of their little heroes and then they got a super treat.

The Grand America has been hosting "staycations" for local guests. These weekends include a Friday night movie by the pool and an ice cream bar on Saturday. Turndown service includes milk and cookies and a welcome surprise from JouJou, the hotel's toy store. Last night, the movie night featured The Wizard of Oz. My mom and I got to create and teach a kid's craft to get all the kiddos excited for the movie.

For they boys, we designed a flying monkey toy that they got to assemble.

And for the girls, we made wands and let them decorate Glinda crowns. Isn't that glitter paper awesome?

We designed this backdrop so that parents could take their kiddos' pictures with their final projects. 

The staff at the Grand is a-mazing. Every experience with the hotel truly is Grand. My mom and I are so excited to join them again next month for Monster's Inc. and E.T.

Calling all superheroes!

Tomorrow my mom and I are hosting a free kids craft event at Pottery Barn Kids in Salt Lake to celebrate the new Wonder Woman products! From 1:00-4:00, we'll be there decorating some pretty rad masks and taking plenty of pictures. We will also have a few hero-themed art prints available for purchase. The craft project is perfect for boys and girls of pretty much all ages, so come see us tomorrow!

Kensie Kate is celebrating 2 years!

You guys! What an exciting month this has been so far! Fireworks, family reunions, water parks, and watermelon.
